Thinking green, I eliminated the unnecessary collateral and removed tedious marketing projects in one fell swoop. It was definitely sold as reaffirming our commitment to be better stewards of the earth (tikkun olam). Anywho, we focused on social media marketing, partnered with radio and tv affiliates, and did I mention the full-page ad in the Indy Star the Sunday before the event?

The JCC Update

The membership magazine may or may not be the main means of communication with the members, but that is the rumor around here. This 24-page publication lists most all classes and upcoming programming, gives contact information for all department heads, highlights major community events, thanks our donors and sponsors, lists rules and regulations for the the campus, and calendars with future events and holiday closings. It does a lot.

Tiny House Roadshow

Tiny House Roadshow

Huge Event, Tiny Houses. It was a 3-day event in the middle of a 3-week festival that turned into one of the largest events held on campus. I am as grateful for the opportunity to design my first billboard as I am happy that the event is done and over with.

Branding

Working within the JCC Style Guide, I worked with program managers to create our Community Yoga School and the Mills Soccer Institute. Outside of the J, I have worked with bands and small businesses to create logos and build brands.

JFGI Impact Report

This was a project started by contract designer and then scrapped. I kind of used that creation to inspire this project and help it rise from the ashes. Now, let history show this is the first Impact Report done by any of the Jewish agencies in Indianapolis. More than that, it allowed me to show the power of actually taking photos of our members instead using stock photography. You know, show the community we support.

Your Federation. Your Support. Your Community.

Carapace

I was talking with the drummer about design concepts when a tangent about Nirvana led to their In Utero. Our love of that album inspired the layers of the carapace that run through layers of the album. I used just under two dozen of my sketches to build layers within the layers. The finished album has a simple look at first that builds complexity as you spend time with it. Just like the music.

Making Corn Sexy

The client wanted a "WOW!" sunset for the cover of their seed catalog. One problem...Ag Printers did not have any majestic sunsets in their image library. Eight covers from three other designers were rejected before I was asked to put my projects on hold to take over. I looked over the client notes, studied sunsets (colors, shadows, highlights, etc) and then jumped into Photoshop.
